Requiem revels in victory! The fog has cleared thanks to the bravery of the town. Hear the story of the great victory and everything else you may have missed in this month’s article of Voices of the Fold!
An Epic Battle:
Proper preparation for battle is key to winning, and Requiem has unlocked the secret. From the moment everyone set foot in town, research began. Not a moment wasted as answers quickly unfolded from inside the library. By the following afternoon jobs were delegated, items were in their final stages of creation, and the town was ready to dive in. When in the most dramatic moment of the day came, the raiders came with it. The sounds of crafting must have drawn in the crowd at the worst timing.
The battle moved uphill, inching the device up a step at a time only to fall back to the start. Raiders and zed swarmed down the hill in what seemed like a never ending slog. As combatants began to leave the field, drained of everything in them, local Devil Lance stepped up. Raising his arm high, he dropped not one, but two broken arrows. The threats were defeated and the town was free to move upwards.
It was time for the dive team.
Beyond the fog, the team faced a swarm of zed accompanied by an onslaught of thoughts, emotions, and even actions compelled upon them. Every time someone exerted just a little bit more of themselves, there was some kind of aberrant, or similar reaction that affected anywhere from one person to all in the area. The device was successfully activated, the dive team did succeed in protecting it, and lives were also lost. No casualties would be unrealistic in the world we live, nonetheless we still acknowledge the sacrifice of those strains.
The hard work of Requiem has not only provided relief, but a chance to rebuild and prepare for what comes after three months is up. I, Betsy Bass, will do my duty to get the news into the hands of those that can help aid in the efforts the end the fog for good.
In other news:
The House of Dionysus showed up in Requiem, represented by Sciel. Described as a rather charming visit, I have received reports that allege the food, while delicious, may have caused visions, elevated heart rate, and other drug like symptoms. No confirmation to these allegations have been provided at the time being.
“"I had such a lovely time meeting everyone and sharing delicious treats provided by the House. Don't be shy to send a letter if you'd like. Hugs and kisses darlings, Sciel de Lioncourte"
While one of the Baudelaires was out fishing with Requiem, the others were seen adding insulation and boarding up their homes for the upcoming winter season. They do send their thanks to Requiem for their continued friendship. As long as absolutely nothing goes wrong, they should have enough supplies to last until the spring for their return back to Requiem.
Stay Safe. Stay Warm.
The doors inside Requiem may be locked up tight, but the world around continues to move. Check your mailboxes, stoops, or wherever the paper gets delivered because you will be hearing from me again soon. Stay warm.
