And That’s a Wrap
When adding together the screams that could be heard across the Fold, I can confirm Honor’s Fall was full of terror, joy, and it’s finally over.
The Night:
Beginning with the night of Honor's Fall. This year the people of the Fold were graced with beautiful weather, a special treat for a special occasion. The events that occurred during the night have become too contradictory based on where the information is coming from, therefore to save you all from the monster that is misinformation, I will move on. The results of the night left many in Requiem with a new sense of hope that the families will show a greater sense of togetherness moving forward. Collaboration has always been important to the town, but now the families are out to show it.
Interestingly enough, the Baudelaires did not show up. Was it a trick? Have they changed their mind? Did something happen to the family? I hope to have these answers for you by my next article.
For those that skimmed past my last two paragraphs, here is what you are looking for.
The New Families
Before announcing the new family, I must send my kindest regards to those of the Anderson Ambrosios family as they officially step down and take a new place as a Ward family, now known as Nova. Haldis remains the leader of this ward family. Who are they warding under?
Meet the newest family of Requiem, The Alexandria family. They have risen up and claimed a head, securing their spot as a family. Led by Bonnie Lincoln, the family has a gorgeous library that you absolutely must check out. Be sure to give your thanks to Asami, the original founder of the library while you are there. If knowledge is what you seek, there may be a book for that with the Alexandria family. Just leave the secrets to the Volkovs. Welcome to the Family, Alexandrias, and welcome to their ward, the Nova family.
The Entertainment:
There was much to celebrate this year, and the Great Hall was the place to celebrate. The Fold’s very first Heavy Wastes Champion has been crowned in the official RFL. To the chagrin of many, congratulations Ultimo Blue on your title! It was a well fought match against local Reqq’er Gorge. The only casualty was the table. There cheers, and the boos, echoed throughout the wastes. Kudos to inspiring those across the wastes to get involved. The RFL has caught the attention of wastelanders from coast to coast. Tryouts will be held in October. Even I can not wait to see who joins next.
Once Bitten Burlesque followed up the RFL with more entertainment, just a bit raunchier. The wonderful Logan and her crew left the town quite literally screaming for more. Some quotes I was given were ‘I love flies’, ‘We’re all Darwins now’, and ‘Women in Stem’. Without being there myself, I may not fully grasp what those quotes mean, but to those of you there, I hope you enjoyed one of the Fold’s favorite burlesque troupes.
We, as people, love entertainment, but other creatures, such as Shroomogs, may not. The RFL faced interruption as the Shroomog made an appearance. This psionic, massive frog, caused quite a ruckus, but only for a brief time before the situation was thoroughly handled and the show was able to continue.
Other Events of the Weekend
Politics, Wrestling, Burlesque, and for the scientifically inclined, drama at the morgue. Through careful monitoring of all morgue related activities, there was ONLY one quite lethal threat that appeared in Requiem. I emphasize the word ‘only’ because it only takes a few mistakes for that to have escalated to the end of Requiem.
If you remember, the Lotus Society had put out wanted posters for all Darwins. It looks as though the Saintbane Sentinels are looking to cash in on this opportunity. Hired by the Lotus Society, they made their way through town gathering any information they could about the Darwins. With the town’s existing distrust of the Sentinels, I wonder what kind of information they were given.
In a time of new beginnings, a group of Full Deads were escorted through the town looking to relocate all the way from Bravado. Perhaps they will find Requiem to be their new home. Are they also looking for a new beginning?
As quickly as it came, Honor’s Fall is over. It’s time for a new year, new beginnings, new friendships, new heartaches, and maybe even a new you. Get ready, because the next article will be coming out quickly!
