The Downfall and Uprise of Post Honor’s Fall
The news will ALWAYS find its way to you, my dearest followers, and this month is no different than the rest. With Honor’s Fall wrapping up last time I wrote to you all, the wastes have had time to settle into what’s new and continue to embrace what has remained the same. Let’s see what The Fold has been up to.
Post Honor’s Fall
The Baudelaires. They didn’t show to Honor’s Fall despite what I had written. Alas, I do not lie in my papers, which means there is something else going on with this family. In another series of unfortunate events for this family, the newer generation of elders doesn’t seem to have as strong of a will to survive compared to the older elders. It seems as though they are taking control of the family, but if they couldn’t remember when Honor’s Fall was, what can they be trusted to do?
More fallout from Honor’s Fall appears in what I would assume is the favor of Requiem. The Bloodhound activity has settled a bit. Perhaps the beating they received during their visit was a little more than they expected. May these ruthless poachers be no more! Do stay weary, as you never know where stragglers may be lurking.
You all remember the dive into the tunnels, ye? The Hallows Breath Research Coalition broke into those tunnels. Those members most likely all perished to the remaining gorgers as we have not heard word from them since. What a shame to see researchers disappear. Is there anyone out there brave enough to see what fate lies for them next in the tunnels?
Around the Fold
In some saddening news, the small settlement of Fort Grim fell between the time we were at Honor’s Fall until now. It’s been reported that a horde, including a bone harvester, had virtually leveled the town. While the bone harvester was defeated and a few survivors made it out, the town, as old as it may be, is officially gone. The town was known for their guard work alongside the Lotus Society, which means this had to be a one of a kind battle. It wouldn’t be surprising if we saw a few new faces appear in Requiem.
While we are speaking about threats, several members of the Boonhelms have reported unusual raider movement. Oddly enough, they refused to elaborate any further into these reports. One can understand not wanting your personal dirty laundry aired out through my newsletters, but something like this we would want shared, is it not?
The strange only get stranger as reports of remnant researchers have reached my desk. No, the stranger report is not that remnants are capable of becoming researchers. It’s their behavior that set off a few flags. Slurred speech, strange body language. Whatever they have gotten into, it clearly impacted them.
BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU STEP!
Patches of green haze have appeared across the Fold with sporadic violet arcs. Those that encounter them seem to be acting strangely. I do wonder if this has any connection to the remnants previously mentioned.
Lastly, I must leave you all with a little positivity before you make your way into Requiem. Compliments to the medics of Requiem. Those in the town and around town. From the stories that have made their way to me, the medics can be pinned as one of the big reasons you all survive each gather. They show genuine care for the lives of others. Be sure when you see them to give a smile, or even better, some wagers. If you don’t pay your medics I do hope you have some sort of deal set up to repay them for their dedication
That is all I have for you for this gather! Don’t forget that you are all coming into this with a clean slate. At Honor’s Fall, you washed away all the bad feelings, shenanigans gone wrong, and broken deals. It is time to start new. If your beef has not been squashed, I implore you to do so. I’ve been writing newsletters for Requiem for quite a few months now. We are celebrating 10 editions of the newspaper. During those 10 papers, I have seen the town come together many times. I have seen what you are capable of, the things you can fight, the enemies you can soothe, and the future you can build. I challenge all of you to take half an hour this gather and sit down with someone you may not have seen eye to eye with in the past. A little conversation can be all we need to remember that in the end, we are all strains living in this town trying to create a better world to live in.
Be excellent to each other.
